FREEBIE QP - SUMMER AFTERNOON

Today is the last day of November, and I cannot believe how fast the months are rolling by.  As a little girl, I can remember my own mom saying "The older you get, the faster time flies."  I have now lived long enough to know exactly what she meant!  I ponder things like this.  Is it that we are just older, so doing things just takes longer?  Or is it that we are so busy with much to do and don't notice time slipping by until we occasionally take our heads up from the sand?  Humm . . .

At any rate, here on the last day of this month I'm posting another FREE QUICK PAGE for you, this one from my participation in the monthly Quick Page Challenge over at Ivy Scraps.  For November we got to design from the kit, "Summer Afternoon" by KatLen Kreations.  If you would like to gather up all the free QPs made by the challenge participants, just visit the Quick Page Challenge thread in the forum at Ivy Scraps.  There you will find the free download links in everybody's posts.  My page is 12 x 12-inch, 300 dpi, in png format.  Slip a couple of photos under it, add some journaling if desired, and you're done!  Here is the kit preview . . .

and here is my QP preview . . .

Since it the close of another month, I'll post some of my scrapped pages here hopefully to inspire you further to try your hand at digital scrapbooking.  Here are some of my Halloween shots . . .

and here are a couple I did in September . . .

and here is the beginning of a Disney trip album I'll be working on in the months to come . . .

So, my peeps, we close November and step into December; probably for most the busiest month of the year!  Good luck with all your holiday plans.  I will post again soon!

FREEBIE - FALL HARVEST QUICK PAGE

HAPPY "BLACK FRIDAY" shopping day to everybody!  I personally am not out in those tremendous crowds today.  There is nothing on my list so urgent, and nothing at all so urgent that I needed to shop on Thanksgiving Day!  Hope you had a wonderful day with friends and family and spent your time enjoying all the things we have to be thankful for each and every day.  Whether you cook your entire holiday meal or simply go out somewhere special to eat, I hope you had the chance to do it together with loved ones.

This year we opted to go out to a new place for our big meal, so we chose to cook up lots of goodies to carry our family over the remaining weekend.  Men have to have traditional holiday snacks available no matter what the cook decides to do, so my daughter whipped up a 7-lb. turkey breast in her crock pot so we would have it to snack on.  Wow!  It turned out totally awesome!  She is good at recipes of her own, and this one involved 1 cup each of chicken broth, beer, orange juice, and cranberry juice and the addition of various spices.  It was started on high for an hour, and finished on low for several hours.  The meat was unbelievably moist, tender and tasty!  We added to that my deviled eggs, a pecan pie, an apple/cranberry cobbler, several dips and a cheeseball.  Needless to say, the men were happy with rolls in hand for the remainder of the day which included football games and watching the kids play as folks dropped by.

We had traveled out 30 miles away to a nearby small town to partake our main meal at 1 p.m. in a friend's new small cafe to support her business.  She and her staff prepared an endless buffet of traditional southern Thanksgiving fare and were serving from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.  It was our first visit to her place, and we really enjoyed it.  The men loved it because the atmosphere is country-casual, eclectic, and the sweet tea was served in quart size mason jars with lots of ice.  The food was abundant, hot, and ready to consume with everything you could imagine available!  My oldest grandson, who is just a month shy of 12 yrs. old, gave the blessing.  It was beautiful and warmed my heart.

We left full and happy and decided to enjoy the famous quarter mile scenic "River Walk" in that area before motoring back home.  Our weather was cool enough to wrap up in jackets but not so cold as to be uncomfortable, and the day was all out sunshine!  The River Walk is an actual boardwalk along the very old historic parts of the town which sets on the river.  What a great photo opportunity!!  Guess who was snapping all the way!  I got some great pictures to scrap later on!  Yeah for me!

For you today I have a FREE QUICK PAGE entitled "FALL HARVEST".  This is through my participation in the November Quick Page Game at Digi Scrap Station, and the kit is by Panda Bear Designs.  I've made both the 8-inch size for the contest and the 12-in size png available here, both are 300 dpi.  To collect the whole QP album, visit the November Quick Page Game thread in the forum at DSS, where all the free download links are posted.  You can download my 12-inch page below.  Here is the kit preview . . .

HERE THERE BE HAUNTINGS - QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Good Wednesday Morning, Everybody!

If you are not already familiar with the digital scrapbooking site, With Love Studio, I suggest you take time to check it out.  In the forum there each month you can collect a complete free kit each month simply by visiting the Daily Download forum thread and collecting the daily pieces.  A different designer is featured each month, and the downloads normally start on the first day of each new month and run for 15 days.  Each free download is usually available for three days, so you have plenty of time to try to collect each day to complete your kit properly.  Around the middle of each month, the kit designer will sometimes post a "challenge" using that month's kit and offer a prize for participation.  The challenge is to use the kit to make a layout and post it.

This month we collected "HERE THERE BE HAUNTINGS" by Callaluna Creations.  I wanted to do the challenge but didn't have any current Halloween photos just yet to use in my layout, so I made a Quick Page to use after I get some pictures.  The kit designer has graciously given me consent to offer my QP to you here on my blog for free.  I made a 12 x 12-inch, 300 dpi, png format QP ready for you to just slip a photo behind the opening.  Of course, you can easily resize this to an 8 x 8-inch if you prefer.

Here are the preview of elements and papers in this kit.

I love these two file sharing sites because, as far as I know, there are no hassles for you when you go to download my files.  I provide two in case one of them runs out of bandwidth during any given month.

That's all I have for you at the moment for today.  Stop back by tomorrow as I hope to have the rest of my 2013 calendar grids posted for you to snag!

Have a great week!

HALLOWEEN FUN QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Good Morning One and All, Happy Tuesday!  I'm off from work today and tomorrow - yeah!  The house is quiet, and I've got a little time to spare which means I can get my blog posts up to date!  Good for me, good for you!  I have my cup of java in hand, so here we go!  My hubby is in class and taking a test today for his National Pool Operaters license which is only a small part of his job.  I never get this kind of truly quiet time!

Today I have another FREEBIE Quick Page for you.  This one comes from my participation in the monthly QP Game over at Digi Scrap Station in the forum.  For October, we got to use the kit, HALLOWEEN FUN, by The Brown Owl.  I have made my QP in both the 8 x 8-inch and the 12 x 12-inch size, png format, at 300 dpi.  Both downloads are available below.

First, lets have a look at the kit used which is available in the store at Digi Scrap Station.  Here are some previews . . .

Cute, right?  Okay, here is my Quick Page preview . . .

I'm having a terrible time in Blogger getting my preview jpgs to upload.  I can only get one uploaded at a time to show up in the post.  I have to sign out and sign back in to load each picture and make it work correctly.  This has been going on for some time and is really slowing me down; just another glitch for me to work around.  Think I will try to report this to Blogger today since I have extra time to myself.

I was very distressed to find recently that Digi Scrap Depot has closed down.  I had been using that site since I started digital scrapbooking in 2008.  It was such a great community and resource for free digital scrapbooking art, tools and supplies.  I'm so saddened by them having had to close their doors.  I will find another site to post my freebies to eventually, but I certainly will miss my old favorite spot!

Stop by again tomorrow.  I will have another FREEBIE for you most likely of the Halloween theme.  Then my next effort will be to catch up the rest of this years' calendar grid freebies.  I will probably put all the rest of them into one zip file for you to make the rest of this year available and easy by the end of this month!  I should be working on 2014 NOW instead of 2013!!  LOL!!

Have a great day and a wonderful week!

BOO QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Hi everybody!  Happy Halloween (almost)!  I can finally feel it in the air.  Our beach weather just turned cool in the last two days, and we actually had a skiff of frost on the car windows just yesterday morning!  I just realized it's been about a month since my last post, and I have to wonder where I've been.  Aside from the normal day job, I've been knitting up a storm.  I found a new knitting shop in my area and got inspired to whip up a few gifts for the upcoming holiday season!

I have a few new Quick Pages to share with you over the next few days, all by the end of the month and all with the Halloween theme.

First for today is my participation in the Ivy Scraps monthly Quick Page contest.  We got to work with "BOO" by Lily Belle Design.  My QP FREEBIE is in png format, 300 dpi, and is a 12 x 12" (which can be sized down to 8 x 8" easily if desired).  If Blogger is working correctly just now, here are a couple of previews of the kit used, then my QP and the download links.

And here's a preview of her add-on,

And here are just some of the papers,

And now for the Quick Page I designed from her kit,

I am having difficulty getting more than one preview loaded into blogger, so if you don't see them above, I will have to come back after this posts and slip them in one by one eventually.  But I wanted to at least get this posted so you can download your freebie.  I really don't have time to fiddle with all the glitches in technology.  I wish things would just work like they are supposed to all the time.

I'll be back tomorrow with another freebie Quick Page.  Check back in!

RICH EARTH QP FREEBIE

Hello and Happy Fall everyone!  Sorry that my posts are so radically intermittent right now, but I've been stomping around in the guts of my computer for way over a month now.  I believe I may have solved half of my working problems, but there are a few things still not right, and it's wearing on my last nerve!  I'm running Vista Home Premium on a great PC desktop tower, but it's getting pretty old now and no amount of sweet talk is fixing the glitches that have cropped up in the Vista operating system.  I'd really love to upgrade it to Windows 7 but fear I've missed that opportunity for lack of funds at the appropriate time.  I shall keep limping along on this one, dealing with the problems, until my "ship comes in".  LOL!  I'm a believer that those "ships" do dock once in awhile!  We just have to be patient in the meantime.

So sorry that I've fallen behind with my 2013 calendar grids for you.  Catching those up will be next on my list!

Today I have a Fall Quick Page freebie for you made from my participation in the monthly QP contest game over at Digi Scrap Station.  This month we used the kit, RICH EARTH, by Scrappy Cats (preview below).  I'm offering my QP in both the 8-inch and 12-inch size png file at 300 dpi.  Just slip your photo behind it, add some journaling if you like, and you're done!

Here is my Quick Page . . .

Hope you can use this in your digi-scrapping this fall.  Remember, if you would like to collect the other Quick Pages from the rest of the contestants, just visit the September QP Game forum thread over at Digi Scrap Station.  You'll find direct download links posted for each page in that forum thread.  All should be in the 8-inch size, but lots of us offer the 12-inch size as well on our blogs.

I'm also having trouble getting my photos to upload into blogger.  Anybody have a solution for that one?  The first one seems to slip in easily, then it doesn't want to upload anymore for me!!  :-(  Frowny face!!

I will keep working on this until I have this latest blogger myster solved.  I'm a die-hard!

Meantime, keep on scrapping!

Hope to be back soon with more goodies!

QP FREEBIE - TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL

Hi Everybody!  I'm running behind as usual, but this time it's due to my having extreme computer "issues" during the month of August!  UGH!  I am still working on them and definitely not fully recovered as yet.  I tend to think of myself as computer knowledgeable, but certainly not when it comes to repair of windows.  I am having to dig so deep and read, read, read.  I'm totally exhausted and getting very burned out on it.  At this point, I am just hopeful as I write this that I will be able to get it posted.  I am experiencing severe freeze-ups in Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Vista Home Premium, and screen freeze-ups when working offline in just regular Windows Explorer.  This computer has given me excellent service until about a month ago, so I am desperately trying to figure out the root cause of this.  I am currently having to do hard reboots to keep going for awhile.  I have had this baby since about 2006 or 2007, but I am fearful that our future time together is limited.

I hope to catch up and post my 2013 August and September calendar grid templates in the next few days.

I have missed getting my August Quick Page made and posted for the contest at Ivy Scraps unless they will let me post it late due to these computer problems.

The good news is that today I am bringing you my August Quick Page freebie for the Quick Page Game at Digi Scrap Station titled "Too Cool For School", using that kit by Heavenly Scraps.  If you would like to collect a nice QP album of 8-inch pages, be sure to visit the forum thread for direct download links from all the contestants which will be available for at least the next 30 days.  I am offering my page in both the 8-inch and the 12-inch png formats, and the download links are below.  Here is the kit preview . . .

GLORIOUS 4TH QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Happy weekend to you normal folks!  I have a Saturday FREEBIE treat for you!  As is a delight for me, I try to participate in a few Quick Page challenges each month; and you and I both get to reap the benefits!  This month over at Ivy Scraps, we were fortunate to get to play with two different kits designed by Fay Burnett of LilyBelle Designs, a simply hugely talented designer!!  She offered up two of her red, white, and blue themed kits for us to dabble in; one named "True Patriot Love" and the other named "Glorious 4th".  Wow, they were both so awesome it was hard for me to decide what to do, and when I began playing around in "Glorious 4th", I couldn't stop and probably went a little crazy trying to use all the cute elements and all the papers I loved!!  Her designs are such a treat!  I made our usual png format in 12 x 12" size at 300 dpi.  You can easily size this down if you prefer to scrap in the 8 x 8" size.  I will first show you the previews of the two kits . . .These are the elements and papers included in "True Patriot Love" . . .

and now here is the kit I worked from, "Glorious 4th" . . .

and now for something I rarely do, include a layout of myself with DH, using this kit . . .

and a preview of the blank QP I have for you to download below . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

I made a second layout for myself using "Glorious 4th" to scrap up a few shots I had taken in the late evening as we sat on the beach awaiting the pier fireworks, so I'll show you that below . . . (sorry, I can only make one QP to give away) . . . but you can go collect all the other free QPs from this month's contest by visiting Ivy Scraps forum where all the free direct download links are posted in the July Quick Page Game thread . . .

Pretty cool, right?  Trust me, these two kits are totally awesome!  Below is another page I did up since I had captured a pretty good shot of my gal; some elements are from the kit "Red Bliss" by Albums To Remember Designs over at Gotta Pixel.  The paper and alpha were from a freebie called "I M Free" by chunlin at With Love Studio.  The little gold fireworks is from "Stars & Stripes" by KBS at Divine Digital (now closed); and the photomask is a free download at Gotta Pixel for the July Photo Mask challenge designed and hosted by Indigo Designs (another wonderful talent!).

Alrighty then, that's all from me for today.  I'm one of those weekend workers and must report into the job shortly.  My weekend occurs on Tuesday and Wednesday, luckily same as my DH.  It's little wonder we are kinda messed up, huh?  Have a great Saturday!  Drop by tomorrow for another Free Quick Page!

FREE JULY 2013 CALENDAR GRID TEMPLATE

Good morning fellow digi-scrappers!  I'm dropping in before this busy summer month is over to post a few freebies for ya'll over the next few days.  I've been so busy with real life and grandkids that I didn't realize it's been almost a month since I had posted something.  Just proves that time flies when you are busy or having fun, hey?!!

I've been working on a digi-album of my daughter's June trip with her family to the Outer Banks.  She was mindful during their daily adventures to capture lots of photos, and ever mindful that I love to scrap and need lots of material to work with.  The album is coming along nicely and will be pretty good size when finished.  I'm pleased with it and may post it eventually on the "layout page tab" above so you can view it.

We had a good July 4th with food around the pool activities, then went to the beach to view the fireworks set off on our closest pier out over the water.  Sure does make one feel patriotic to see the crowds that gather all decked in red, white, and blue garb to celebrate our freedom!

Today's FREEBIE is my 2013 July Calendar Grid Template.  It comes with both a jpg file with a white background, and also with a png file with a transparent background so you can set it atop your favorite background color or paper.  It is designed to fit the bottom half of an 8.5 x 11" document so you can decorate your calendar page top as you wish; but it is also easily resized if you desire.  Here is my preview with downloads below . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

The first download is from Open Drive, and the second download site is Hightail.  Just in case you are not aware, the "You Send It" file sharing site has renamed themselves just recently as "Hightail".  I wish I would get in the habit of having these ready for you at the front of each month!  I promise to try harder on that one!

I'm hopping off here now as I have to report to work an hour early today for a meeting which will make my work day 10 hours long.  I don't mind work, but it's difficult to be on my feet that long the older I get.  Trust me, dinner tonight will be something I don't have to stand up and cook!  LOL!

I'll be back tomorrow and the next day with some of my free monthly Quick Pages for you and may take time to post a few layouts for inspiration, too!  Have a great Friday!

FREEBIE QUICK PAGES - OCEAN BLUE AND BITS & BAUBLES

Good Morning, my peeps!  I'm dropping in to post some more FREE QUICK PAGES for you before this month of June slips passed us.  I've been super busy working my job and entertaining my grandkids in my home and at the pool on my two days off.  Needless to say, I'm having to go to bed earlier at night to keep this pace which is opposite my "night-owl" routine which is truly me by nature.  This is cutting my computer time to a bare minimum, but spending time with my grandkids while they have some summer off is my top priority.  They are growing up so fast, and I get to see so little of them during the busy school year and my having to work over the weekends.  I always get all three of them together; and we play games, craft, watch movies, play in the yard with baseball or corn-hole, swim, and manage to eat three meals during the days!  As we returned to my house after our last dip in the pool this week, my youngest one told me that he "wished he could just live with me", and I take that as the highest compliment!  Little does he remember that he actually did live with me in my house until he was 3-1/2 years old.  He is 7 years old now.  Maybe some of it is actually retained in the corners of his mind, but probably not so much as time goes by.  Sure plucked my heart strings though to hear him vocalize that one this week.  Going to try to beg his dad into a sleep-over soon.

We've had rain off and on each day for over a week now.  It's so hot the water vapor just rises while the sun is out, forms clouds, and comes back down at some point during the day.  The rain never lasts very long and moves on out quickly with the breeze, but it can be torrential type rain while coming down!  The tourists are about over it!  Poor dears!

I've gotten a few pages of personal scrapping completed and managed to find time to put together my two regular monthly Quick Pages for the games I enter at Digi Scrap Station and Ivy Scraps.  We'll start with game at DSS which gave us the kit, OCEAN BLUE, by Panda Bear Designs, to play with.  I'm offering my page in both the 8-inch and 12-inch sizes for download below.  These are png files at 300 dpi.  Here is the kit preview . . .

and here is my layout with it . . .

I hope you like and can use these in your personal digi-scrapping.  Of course, if you want to collect the other contestant's pages, just visit the forum thread at each site about the June Quick Page Challenge/Game.  Each contestant will post a direct download link for their QP in that forum thread.  You probably need to be registered in the forum before you will be able to see those active links.  It's all free, so have at it.

That's it for the moment from me.  Short and sweet!  I'll be back soon to post your July Calendar Grid freebie, so don't miss that!  Leave some love if you download my goodies; just let me know you were here at least!

Oh yeah, I had my pooch, Duffy, shaved down for the summer heat by my DD today.  Geez!  He looks naked now, but he's loving it himself as evidenced by his extra rough playtime this evening.  He was sporting a beautiful full winter coat of buff colored curls and was extra cute with it.  I feel like I've just cute off Sampson's hair, but it had to be done for his comfort.  Never fear, it will grow back sooner than we think!

FUNKY TOWN QUICK PAGE FREEBIE !!

Greetings!  Welcome to my little corner of creativity!  It's already blazing hot here at the beach, and it's only mid-June!  Wednesday this week saw the onset of extreme humidity, so it's definitely time to stay in the ocean or pool water for comfort out there and wear lots of sunblock!

Had my birthday yesterday, not telling how old!  I've learned to celebrate the fact I am here, not count how long I've been around.  LOL!  I had to work anyway but had a good day.  My DD took me out the evening before for an oceanfront snack and drinks where we could watch some of the local amusements now that the tourists are packed in here.  Lord the sights and sounds; I could people-watch forever, so entertaining!  Anyway during my BD workday, she dropped by with balloons and a cool, yummy Starbucks drink and put me in the spotlight on my job.  I'd been trying to keep it a secret.  Oh well, so much for that.  At the same time my littlest grandson, the one that was the extreme preemie (now 7 yrs. old) came to surprise me with a bouquet of white roses, a card he had picked himself, and a 5x7" school photo which was awesome!  He was so tickled with himself and couldn't wait for me to read his card, as it was a humorous joke type and he wanted to see my face when I read it.  He reads so well already!  Anyway, it was a thrill for me as he is certainly my heart.  Here are a couple of BD shots . . .

My DH treated me to BBQ ribs for my birthday dinner.  He had trouble waiting to give me my gift, and since he knew I'd be working on my special day, he chose to give it to me a few days early when I was off and would have time to investigte it.  It was a total surprise, a 10" Samsung tablet!!  Now, I've got to get cracking as a barely have begun to use all the features on my new LG Optimus smart phone as of late!  He knows I like my electronics and don't want to get left in the dust with technology always advancing by leaps and bounds.  We have fun recalling our very first computer and how rudimentary it really was.

I found a new digi-scrap site, at least for me to frequent called With Love Studio.  Upon investigating their forum, I found some challenges for the month of June and so far have participated in the June "Use It or Lose It" challenge where you can make a layout, a quick page or something to show or share using the free mini kit they supply.  This month's mini kit is called "Funky Town" by Amy Lee of Starry Eyed Designs there, and here is what it looks like,

I chose to make a Quick Page to share.  My freebie is a 12 x 12-inch png at 300 dpi.  You can easily resize it to an 8 x 8-inch if that's the size you like to scrap in.  I enjoyed the bright colors in this kit, and you may wish to check out the June Use It or Lose It forum thread or gallery to see all the free items that have been made using this kit so you can snag them up for your stash.

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

I hope to be back shortly with several more free QPs for this month, your July calendar template, and whatever else I have time to rustle up!

Meantime, enjoy the challenge of staying cool during the summer heat!  And, of course, Happy Scrapping!
