QUICK PAGE FREEBIE - SunSunSun

I'm back with yet another FREE Quick Page for you!  This one is from my participation in the monthly Quick Page Contest over at Cool Scraps Digital.  This is such a great contest, so well run and organized; so I always look forward to being a part of it.
This month we had the opportunity to work with a lovely spring kit called "SUN SUN SUN" by ButterflyDsigns.  The kit is loaded with color, lots of florals, and just pretty things for Spring.  It's bright and cheerful and was fun to work with.  Here is my preview . . .

and here is a closer look at the Quick Page I designed,

This is a 12 x 12 inch, 300 dpi, png format and comes to you from a personal use kit.

DOWNLOAD (FROM BOX) HERE OR (FROM 4SHARED) HERE

This contest is growing in contestant numbers each month as it's open to everyone.  If you want to collect all of the other FREE QPs, just head over to either the gallery or the forum at CSD and look for the Quick Page Contest thread or gallery.  Each contestant provides direct download links for their page usually in both spots.  It's a wonderful way to collect a large number of different page designs from the same kit, making a lovely album ready for you to scrap in a flash!  Jump in and participate in next month's contest.  Sign ups are usually posted at the beginning of each month in the forum, the kit is usually given to us around the 20th of the month, and we have until the end of the month to make our pages and get them posted.  There are always prizes!  Sometimes there is a public poll for the favorite pages where you can vote, prizes are also given for the most gallery comments under each page.  So hop over there and put your two cents in!  I adore making Quick Pages, it's fun!  If you are new to digital scrapping and would like to try your hand at this, there are plenty of helpful scrappers in the forum that will answer your questions, point you to a tutorial on making pages, and even offer to help you with the things you don't know how to do.  It's a great place and way to learn!

Hope this month is going well for you.  I've planted some flowers, a few bulbs, and a couple of "Knock-Out" rose bushes which seem to grow and show really well here in our sandy soil.  Each year I remove whatever is not doing well in my landscaping around the house and try something new.  One of these years I hope to get satisfied, but it's a challenge with the type of summer heat and sandy soil we have here.  I'm from black rich soil in the North, so learning to grow things here in the South has been an ongoing experiment over our years here.  My Amaryllis bulbs never disappoint me.  I never do anything to or for them, and each spring their display is simply spectacular.  I added one bulb of a new white color this year and am anxious to see what it will do.  I'll try to get some pictures up here of them soon.  (I need to work on adding to my layout page.)  I'm working on scrapping several different albums, playing around with designing things, and doing my PhotoShop Friday classes weekly over at Jessica Sprague.  Love those, too!  Keeps me brushed up on different techniques in PSE, love to keep learning all I can all the time!  This leaves little time for normal household chores!  LOL!  I do manage to skim the surface of that, keep the man fed and clothed, and care for my last remaining geriatric Yorkie who is 16.  Add some sports activities with the grandkids and cleaning a few condos here and there; life is busy enough!

I'll be back soon with some interesting freebies for your digital scrapping, so check back often and take care in the meanwhile!

BEE HAPPY - QP FREEBIE

Gosh and golly!  Easter has passed and so has tax day!  We are well into the last bit of this month!  Our weather here at the beach has been lovely for the most part, but quite variable from day to day.  I'm sure it has a lot to do with the jet streams and all that tornado action in the central states.  We should settle quite a bit with the coming of May.

I've gone and entered myself in yet a second monthly Quick Page contest, this one being held by Ivy Scraps.  I like making QPs and always have my eyes peeled for a contest that works the way I would host it myself.  I've found two so far on a monthly basis.  I believe this is the first contest at Ivy Scraps.  All contestants got the cute kit, "BEE HAPPY" by LightningBug Creations, free to work with and design our Quick Page.  We also are able to post our download links for it here on our blogs so our faithful followers can get it right here!  If you would like to collect the rest of April's Quick Pages made with this kit, just hop over to Ivy Scraps and visit the Quick Page Contest thread in the forum there.  All direct download links should be posted there.  You can also get a good bird's eye view of the Quick Pages by visiting their Quick Page Contest section of their gallery, and the links may be posted there also.  This is a great way to collect a FREE QP Album for yourself to enjoy scrapping up when you have the spare time!  Below are my previews and the download links for my page.  Mine is a 12x12 inch, 300 dpi, png format.

Here is my sample layout,

FREEBIE - APRIL PAPERS

HAPPY EASTER! I hope you have a blessed day as we worship all around the world together.

I'm coming at you with a quick Easter gift, and this post will be short and to the point for your convenience and my necessity at the moment.

I have my April Paper Pack ready for you, and I like to get these particular project results posted for you early in the month so you may get to use them in scrapping the events of this month in your life. This month I have a quite varied array of papers, nine of them. I hope you like and can use them. I played around with my text paper, finally landing on a font I love for it. Then I played with two overlays for a couple of others. The rest in the pack are some colorful experiments I've done. There are 9 papers, 12 x 12 inches, 300 dpi, which are PU/S4H/S4O. Here is the preview . . .

TEMPLATE FREEBIE & EXCHANGE

Welcome to April and to Spring, everyone! Did you get to pull off an April Fool's joke, or were you on the receiving end of those all day long? LOL!

It was a gorgeous, sunny, cloudless 86 degrees here today; absolutely beautiful and the time of year we can enjoy that kind of heat without the humidity that summer brings on in this area. I spent the entire day with my DD hunting for the perfect (but affordable) Easter dress for my one and only granddaughter who is an active athletic type but very prissy girly type at the same time. We found it at last along with several other not so essential purchases that browsing in stores and malls just causes to happen. LOL! I hope I have pictures later of my grandkids in their Easter attire. I have fond memories being a youth and always having a new spring dressy dress just for Easter, along with those wonderful patent leather Mary-Jane style new shoes in either shiny black or blinding white! Remember those days yourself??

I picked up a new bottle of my favorite brand of garlic dipping oil as we scanned through our favorite chef/kitchen shop. I have a spice blend called "Sicilian-Traditional" that just has to be my favorite which I generously sprinkle into that oil and dip my favorite Italian bread. OH YUMO! It's a wonder I'm not 500 pounds as good bread is definitely a weakness of mine!

We treated ourselves right during shopping and stopped to refuel with a good lunch out. It was Mexican, a place called "Cantina Maximo - Nacho Hippo". Sipping a marguerita (my favorite summer drink) we decided to split one of their nacho specialities, the name of which I surely cannot remember; but the ingredients consisted of black bean, Caribbean jerk chicken, cheeses, and mango salsa. OMG!! It was to die for good!! I'm going to attempt making that here at home soon! I'm definitely inspired by the flavor blend being so wonderful. That's what I love about living here; there are just so many choices of where to shop, eat, and play. It's never boring out there!

Okay, sorry, enough rambling on. I have a really neat TEMPLATE FREEBIE for you today! I thoroughly enjoyed making the clipping mask included in this template and the journaling outline type element. I am participating in a template exchange during April over at Digital Scrapbooking Studio in celebration of Toiny owning The Studio for three years now. It's a great digital scrapbooking website, so if you are not familiar with it, you should definitely check it out. It's home to some of the friendliest and most helpful scrappers and designers you'll bump into. Toiny is married to a military man and currently they are stationed in Germany. Her newsletters are wonderful and full of not just everything in the boutique but also her own stories of happenings on her homefront with her life there and her children and always a photo. You can really get to know them over time. It's a very close-knit group of folks. At any rate, all during April the template exchange will be ongoing, so you can visit the forum thread about the template exchange which is located under the forum heading "3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION". Everybody participating is providing direct download links to their templates there. You can also see the templates and layouts using them in the gallery there under the same heading. You can participate if you like to make templates or just gather the ones being posted. So hop on over there and have a look see.

My template is a 12 x 12 inch, 300 dpi; and I am providing in the download a psd, tiff, and all pngs so most everybody will be able to use it in different software programs. Here's my preview . . . .

and here is a layout I whipped up using this template so you can get some ideas . . .

OR FROM 4SHARED, HERE

The fonts used on this are Bebas and Celebrity if you're interested.  I hope you can use this and have fun scrapping with it.  I'm sure you'll find lots of ways to use that clipping mask.  Let me know what you think, leave a comment.  If you like free supplies, go over to DSS and snag all the rest of the templates popping up over there all month long, or try making one yourself to include there.

I hope to produce my April Paper Pack real soon.  I finally caught up with myself on that project but hope to keep it going through at least July this year.  I think I may have started with August last year but will double check on that.

That's it for now.  HAPPY EASTER!  Take care and I'll chat again soon.
