JUST SUMMER QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Here is my layout from which I created the Quick Page for you . . .

Happy official SUMMER, my peeps!  It's already super busy at my house, and there's no sign of letting up.  My grandchildren are buzzing my swimming pool on a daily basis, and this year the two 8-yr. olds can finally swim the width and length of the pool on top of the water, stroking and breathing rhythmically!  I've long awaited this day so I can relax a little more while they are swimming!  Yeah!

My desktop is back to having issues that are irking me beyond my capability to be patient with it.  So I'm hobbling along on my laptop for now.  I have limited design resources on the laptop, so I'm feeling crippled in that regard.

However, I've managed to crank out my June QP FREEBIE for the monthly challenge at Ivy Scraps.  We used a kit by Lizzy QX Designs called "Just Summer".  My QP is, of course, a 12 x 12-inch png format at 300 dpi, ready for you to slip your photo underneath, add some journaling, and call it done!  Here is the kit preview first . . .

And here is a look at the QP you'll be getting . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Remember that you can collect enough free QPs to have a nice album just by visiting the forum thread for the June 2014 Quick Page Challenge over at Ivy Scraps.  It's a monthly challenge, so there are always lots of free quick pages to be had.

I'm keeping this a short post as I have much to do, as always.  Hubby wants to get up early and head downtown for breakfast since he has a gift card he wants to use up.  Isn't that just a bummer!  LOL!

Stay cool, and make every day count!  Check in again soon!

QUICK PAGE FREEBIE - LIFT OFF

Good Morning!  Once again I'm in a rush, so I'll keep this post very short.  I have too many things on my list to accomplish today.  Hubby is off with me, and we are going to "move mountains"!  LOL!

I wanted to pop in here and give you my May FREE Quick Page which I designed as part of my participation in the monthly quick page challenge over at Ivy Scraps.  This month we used a kit called "LIFT OFF" by Sweet Dreamer Designs.  The kit has all kinds of space elements in it, and I'm sorry I don't have a preview of it to show you.  But, here is a layout I made with only a few of the elements included . . .

Those are two of my grandchildren heading out to their respective baseball games.  They are brother and sister and are very competitive on their different teams.

My FREE QUICK PAGE comes to you as a 12x12 page in png format ready for you to insert your own photo and add your own journaling.  Of course, you can scale it down to an 8 x 8-inch page in your program if that's what you prefer to work with.  Hope you like!

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Leave me some love in the comment section if you visit here and download my goodies.  Also, take a tour of my other pages with the "page tabs" at the top of this home page.  You'll find some good recipes of mine that I add here and there, some other layouts I've done, and occasional knitting and crochet patterns I've been working on.  Enjoy!

I'll be back again before this month is over since I have a few more things I'm working on and want to give you.  Drop in again soon!

I'm off to start today's chore list!

FREE MOTHER'S DAY WORD ART

Greetings, Peeps!  Hope you're having a marvelous May!  Mine has been super busy with birthday celebrations, remembering Mother's Day, doing my regular job, and working a weekend festival we have annually here at the beach; the Blue Crab Festival.  It was a major success this year with lots of vendors, artisans, food, and huge crowds of lookers/buyers!  I haven't personally seen the festival that good since 2008 as the national ecomony was taking a nose-dive.  Maybe things are beginning to mend, or else folks just need fun for mental therapy.  This area has been buzzing with the sound of motorcycles as we have an annual Harley Davidson rally here every May followed by a Ninja bike week over the Memorial Day holiday.  We get so used to that sound that it will seem quiet when they all depart the beach.

I didn't want this month to get away from me without sharing a special word art I designed as part of my participation in the May Color Challenge over at Ivy Scraps.  We use the pre-selected colors chosen by the challenge host to make a layout, mini kit, QP, paper or element of some kind to share with others.  I was inspired by the soft colors to try to design a word art for Mother's Day, so I hope you still have some photos to scrap of your Mother's Day this year.  My download will contain a transparent png file to use on whatever background you choose.  Hope you like this.  Here is a preview,

Leave me some love if you download so I stay inspired to share my creations with you!  I'm keeping this post short but plan to be back before this month is gone to share a few other goodies with you.  Check back tomorrow for a free Quick Page coming at you!

MISTY MORNING QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Hello fellow scrappers!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter spent with church and loved ones, maybe a good meal and some relaxation time!  My employer is open for business on Easter Sunday, and, being that I worked it last year, I asked for the day off this year.  I had such a nice day off, and, of course, it just seemed to fly by so quickly.  My little Mason cherub (who is 8 yrs. old now) traveled with his dad to Florida to get in a quick visit with his paternal grandmother who winters down there from Pennsylvania.  The kids were on Spring Break combined with Easter, so there was plenty of time for travels.  My other two grandkids had traveled north to WV to visit their paternal grandparents, but they were back home in time for Easter.  My daughter did the cooking and hosting of Easter luncheon at her home, and I made two cakes, plenty of my special deviled eggs, and a huge pitcher of strawberry/peach sangria.  We served a total of eight guests, and it was so pleasant.  My baby is such a superb chef and hostess!  I took plenty of pictures to scrap soon!

FYI:  Click on my "Recipes" tab at the top to go visit my recipe page.  On April 8th I posted an ample recipe for my "White Bean Chicken Chili" made in a 6-qt. crock pot, complete with photo!  I must say, it is super yumo!!

However, I've been delayed in getting this post made as I've been fighting with my computer again for a few days.  It takes bouts of working well, and then not working well at all.  I've spent since last August deep in it's guts fixing this and that, and it flies well for a long time, but then all of a sudden when I least expect it, something causes it to go crazy on me!  I've learned how to do a selective start-up, which allows me to at least work around its problems, but I don't consider that to be a cure.  Arrghh!!

I want to thank you ladies who take time to post a comment after downloading my freebies!  It's so nice to see a few words of encouragement as I plod along in my designing efforts!  I appreciate you all so much for taking a second or so to make a comment for me.  It sort of makes all this very real when someone will speak to you occasionally.

My FREEBIE for you today is a Quick Page from my participation in the monthly Quick Page Contest over at Ivy Scraps.  We got to work with a beautiful kit by KatLen Kreations called "MISTY MORNING", and here is her kit preview . . .

My QP can hold three photos, or one photo and two papers in the photo place-holders, however you like.  It is a 12 x 12-inch, png format at 300 dpi.  You can, of course, size it down to an 8 x 8-inch page easily in your scrapping program.  I haven't worked up my own layout with it as yet because of my computer issues, but here is the preview of it . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Now don't forget if you are interested in collecting all the FREE QPs from the April Challenge, just visit the April QP Contest thread in the forum over at Ivy Scraps.  You will need to register in the forum if you are not already, so you can see the posts which contain the direct download links to each participant's page.  There are normally enough to make a wonderful album!  If you like to make Quick Pages, think about getting involved in these monthly challenges.  Everybody is so helpful there, so if you need any help along the way making your page or cutting out the holes for the photos, someone is always ready and willing to help you.  So dive in and don't be afraid.  It's great fun and great experience!

Now just for inspiration, I'll show you two layouts.  One is mine and one belongs to another gal.  There is a template making challenge over at The Studio during the month of April to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Toiny owning the site.  I love templates and pretty much love to make them when I really have enough designing time to myself.  I posted the one I made as a FREEBIE in my previous post.  Hope it inspired you and that you snagged it already.  If not, you will want to get it after you see what Foxinsocks did with it!  Just have a look what she created below . . .

She won "Layout Of The Day" with this, and deservedly so!  I think it is just gorgeous beyond belief.  The photo is so perfect for the mask, and her kit colors are a spendid match for the photo!  I'm so pleased to see how she used my template!  Makes me so happy!!

Before I made my template, I had grabbed one that she designed from the contest and made myself a layout of my little Mason with the Easter bunny this year!

I'm telling you, getting involved in some of the monthly forum challenges at the digi-scrapping sites is so much fun and a wonderful way to further your skills, not to mention getting some scrapping done in the process!  I'm so looking forward to the day when I can call my own shots and create more time in my days, weeks, and months for lots more scrapping!!  I'm so addicted; it's definitely my favorite hobby!

Of note, just FYI, I've been a faithful user of Carbonite backup service for many years, and it has definitely served me well right up until my computer problems started occurring in August of 2013.  From then until now, it has been touch and go getting anything to work correctly.  I've had to change my backup service, so I just recently (after much studying up) selected BackBlaze as my service to continually backup my entire system.  I signed up for two years with them; my monthly cost is $3.96, and it will backup my two internal drives, and any USB external drives that I plug in at least once every month.  Not bad, hey??  Just passing along some good information for you all.  You can have a 15-day trial of BackBlaze free so you can see just how easily it works.  Their website is great, and you can read all about it there.

That's all I have for you today, peeps!  I hope to chat again soon and have some more goodies for your stash!  Don't forget Mother's Day is coming soon!  I should design something for it for you to snag up.  Check back often!  Happy Scrapping!

ENHANCE A QUICK PAGE

I'm mentoring a couple of digi-scrap newbies, so I'm dropping in to show off how I enhanced a free Quick Page which I obtained as a FaceBook freebie from Chrissy W Digital over at Gotta Pixel.  I had downloaded the matching kit which was a free daily download also from Gotta Pixel.  I simply placed lots of additional photos on top of this QP (it held just one nice size picture), then I used some kit elements with some text word art and a few words and journaling of my own on top.  Just giving some ideas here so you can see what you can do with a simple Quick Page.  I've always loved them and collected as many as I can.  When you acquire a kit, you can make oodles of QP's from it just to play around designing, then you can go back and use them later.  It's a good way to learn your digital scrapping software program and what it can do if you're a beginner.

Here is the QP as I acquired it . . .

And here is how it ended up after I playd with it for awhile . . .

This has one picture underneath where the cutout was when I got the QP, and the rest are placed on top of the QP and then I did a stroke frame around each photo.

Hope that gives you some ideas on the endless possibilities of a simple QP.

I'll be back soon.  Working on some free masks to come, so stay tuned in.

FREE CROCUS QP & IRISH BRADS

GREETINGS PEEPS!  I hope that Spring has arrived in your neck of the woods!  On my homefront the ornamental pear trees are in full white bloom against blue skies, and the redbuds are now beginning to blush their beautiful pink!  Temperatures have been up and down, and the winds are still pretty gusty; but all should settle soon.

Since I haven't been posting more often lately, today I have two FREEBIES for you to honor the passing of March this year.  So, we will jump right into those.  Here at the beach, anything is a good reason to party and celebrate!  We had numerous St. Patrick's Day events, and on the morning of the 15th (a Saturday) by 9 a.m. there were over 22,000 people crowded onto our little Main Street for the St. Patrick's Day parade!  It lasted for over 2-3 hours, but the festivities on Main went on well into the evening with food, beverage, music, and crafts.  All of this prompted me to make you some Irish brads to use on your March layouts.  There are 14 of these acrylic topped, preshadowed fun brads/buttons/stickers in this package, all pngs at 300 dpi so you can make them larger or smaller as you wish.  Here's the preview with the download beneath it.

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Next up I have a FREE QUICK PAGE for you from my participation in the monthly QP Contest over at Ivy Scraps.  For March we were given a pretty kit called "CROCUS" by Happy Scrap Arts to play with, and below is the page I designed from this kit.  All of our pages are in png format at 300 dpi, and my download zip has the kit preview in it also so  you can see.  I believe there are about 10 Quick Pages you can collect for free simply by visiting the March QP Contest thread in the forum at Ivy Scraps where you will find each participant has posted a direct download link.  You will need to register in the forum if you are not already so you can see these links in the thread.  Hope you can use my page in your spring scrapping!  Enjoy and leave some love!

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Now for pure inspiration, I'll show you some of the scrapping I completed this month.  Below is the page I designed for the March Mask Challenge at Ivy Scraps using the beautiful free mask by Happy Scrap Arts.  The photo is of the first blooms ever on my own Cocus Palm which were in the spring of 2013, and there were about 4 or 5 of these blooms!  Really strange beauties for sure!

Below is my happy little grandson who won his first trophy for his entry in the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby.  With this win, he got to proceed to Regional Competitions two weeks later!  What a great father/son project!!

Below is my only granddaughter who loves gymnastics and is taking top honors in her local and regional compeitions already at 8 years of age!  Loved this stark layout which was a premade QP I ran across.  The photo was taken against a pink wall, so I simply used an overlay by Digital Scrapper to get that heart bokeh look on that wall.  What a groovy technique!

Next up below is my own daughter who is now studying with the American Broadcasting College and doing DJ Bingo and Trivia in our local restaurants 5-6 evenings a week to gain experience with the microphone and all the electronic equipment as well as speaking in front of crowds (which she has absolutely no problem with).  Proud of her, too!

Below is a simple layout of my two grandchildren who are the same age and currently attending the same school, getting to eat lunch together; first cousins who love each other dearly.

Below, I am still working on my recent birthday albums, one page at a time!  I'll get there slow but sure!

Below I finished a second page of the father/daughter dance which was in February.  I acquired some more photos of this through some friends on Facebook.  Yeah for me!

Below, once in a while you just have to stop and scrap up some simple good pictures; and none better than the love between this gal and her dogs!

Below, stop and notice the details of these two layouts.  I did them from a Digital Scrapper tutorial for March Premier members.  After I watched the video tutorial, I got addicted to trying all the techniques it had taught.  Notice the way the photos are cut around, outlined, and then notice the thin outline around all of the photo edges.  It was quite interesting to do and is a technique to prevent you from getting bored with just regular layout of photos.  I will remember to use this often because I like the look and it was fun to do!

Below, I finally got a photo of my little man's Halloween costume this past year, so I had to scrap "us" together.

And the next four layouts are simply fun memories of a few of the many foods I cook repeatedly in my life in my kitchen.  When I am gone someday, somebody will be able to see that I fed well.  LOL!

Okay, that was a long post afterall.  Congrats if you made it to the end!  I hope to be back more in April.  And by the way, I have nearly completed that crocheted afghan I started for my dad's 91st birthday on April 14th.  I am going to make that deadline for certain, I can see the light at the end of my tunnel.  I'm proud of it and know he will love it and use it.  It's going in the mail soon!!  Yeah!   Now my hubby is wanting one, but I can go slower on his!  I really got a lot done this month although it doesn't show up by my presence here, but that's probably why I got it done.  Right??  (Things to ponder . . . )

Until next time,

JUST PARTY - QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

Good Morning, my peeps!  Sorry I've been posting so infrequently as of late, but my day-job wears me down and out; so with the cooler winter weather here at the beach, I've taken the evenings to sit in my recliner catching up on programs and movies I've never seen via Netflix (love having no commercials as I watch), and I've been knitting up a storm at the same time!  I'll try later to post some of my simple knitting patterns, as well as some photos of those projects, to my knitting and crochet page tab above.  I've even started a crocheted "lazy wave" afghan in pretty fall colors to send to my dad for his birthday in April.  Thus, there is a slight rush on that project to get it completely finished by then!  LOL!  Can't touch these projects here in the heat of summer!  So bear with me!

I really miss having some of my old favorite places to post my freebies where they get a lot of traffic.  Seems so many websites have closed down in the last 1-2 years.  Digi Scrap Station closed their doors the last day of January with very short notice.  That means for now, I have one less QP contest to enter monthly.  I really enjoy doing them, so if any of you know sites that offer them for free, please leave me a comment about where to go.

I've had quite a few birthdays in my family during January and February!  This month's kit from Ivy Scraps is entitled "JUST PARTY" designed by LizzyQX Designs.  It's just right for scrapping up some of my oodles of birthday party pictures I've taken!  I've made a colorful Quick Page FREEBIE for you which is ready to slip a couple of pictures in place under it and add your own journaling on top.  It is a 12 x 12-inch size, png format, at 300 dpi.  Of course, you can size it down easily to an 8 x 8-inch page if you prefer.  Here are the kit previews . . .

Here is the Quick Page I designed from this kit . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

Now below is my layout using my own Quick Page which I filled with my youngest grandson's birthday bowling party pictures . . . lots more of those to scrap up yet!

For inspiration, here are a few I scrapped this month . . . the one below is of my daughter relaxing and decompressing after a long, full day of work.  I used supplies from Celinia Curtis over at Scrap Art Studio for this one . . .

In honor of Valentines Day, I made a page of DH and me, again using supplies by Celinia Curtis and a template . . .

Next, I scrapped a layout of a very special occasion in my only granddaughter's life; her first Daddy-Daughter dance (more pages of that to come soon) at school in the second grade.  I used a kit called "Mine and Dibs" by Made By Me Inspirations available at With Love Studio . . .

Below are a couple of pages of my oldest grandon's family birthday party gathering out to eat in a local sandwich shop.  He's so popular he had many birthday events, so his family gathering had to be "short and sweet" so to speak . . .

I have only begun to scratch the surface of the amount of photos I took during the last two months.  I will have to get my thoughts on these albums a little more organized before I can get down to business on scrapping them up!

I miss having real free time to design more, but that will come with warmer weather when I have to lay the yarns down.  Meantime, leave me some love if you stopped by and do visit again soon!

JANUARY MOODS - QUICK PAGE FREEBIE

BURR, FOLKS!!  I hope wherever you are, that you're warm and happy!  It's been sleeting, icy, and snowy here at my southern beach with temps around 20 degrees.  Black ice has been a problem, the kids have been out of school for 3 days now to stay safe.  By noon today we should start thawing out if the predictions are correct.  Got some snowy pictures of landscapes and my grandkids in winter garb; mittens, toboggans, and such!  It's a real rare thing here!

My two grandsons had birthdays on the 25th and 30th this month.  They are 8 and 12 respectively now.  Such a joy to be here and be close to enjoy them as I get to do!  They are so sweet and perfect clowns for my photos, as well as my only granddaughter.  Most of my pics are slightly blurry because these kids are in constant motion.  The don't know the meaning of "being still" for a second or two.  I just have to keep snapping until I get a good one eventually.

Today I have completed my Quick Page Freebie for my monthly entry for Digi Scrap Station.  We got to use a kit called "JANUARY MOODS" by The Brown Owl.  I made an 8-inch size for the game and also a 12-inch size for those of you who like that size.  These are png format at 300 dpi for print quality.  Here one of the kit previews . . .

and here is the Quick Page I made for the game and for you . . .

Visit the January 2014 Quick Page Collection Game forum thread at Digi Scraps Station to find the free download links for all the page made this month.  There are always such pretty pages!

Below are a couple of pages I just finished of our current weather, some in my neighborhood, at my grandchildren's home, and in my downtown area.  These were made with the use of a template called Case File 72 I picked up free at Scrap Art Studio just this week.  They come out on Mondays and are free through Friday each week, then are sold for a cancer charity after that.  I simply reversed the template horizontally, moved a couple of the elements, and then took out the center post in the two upper frames to expose the pictures a little better.  Super quick scrapping with the only addition being a background paper from the January Moods Kit.  I did a small amount of journaling on each picture in real tiny font as I wanted to remember that my son-in-law is wearing the scarf I knitted for him two Christmases ago finally.

Below is the recipe card I made for my entry in the Recipe Card Challenge hosted by Let Me Scrapbook over at Digital Scrapbooking Studio for the month of January.  The theme was "healthy" recipes, and I fell in love with the little monkeys in the starter kit!  The second image is a blank I included for the other participants to have.

These are web size images, but the ones we submit for the challenge are print quality size, and all participants receive them at the end of the month.  Wow!  The challenge was huge this month!  Guess I'm not the only one who likes monkeys!

That concludes my scrapping for the moment.  I hope to be back soon with something special for February, so do stay tuned in and stop back by.  Leave a little love if you downloaded my goodies so I know you were around.  Your presence helps to spur creativity.

FREE QUICK PAGE - YESTERDAY'S MEMORIES

Happy mid month, my peeps!  Hope you are not freezing to death!  Wow, my weather channel is so full of all the snow coverage and freezing temperature news across the entire country that I find I've been dressing too heavily for work here in the mornings!  Makes me cold just to watch all that!  We've had a lot of extreme heavy fog because our own nights are dipping into the really chilly zone but our days still get up to normal warmth for our area, so that makes for heavy fog that can last most of a day when it happens.  It's weird looking, and visibility is cut to just a few hundred yards in front of one's self.

I think we are finally all over the holiday viruses that had set in on us.  Yucky!  We have taken down the holiday decor and tucked it away for another year; and last week I finished up the shipments of gifts that didn't make it on time.  Don't know if I've ever been that late before, but hey, there is a first for everything!  From what I've heard, the UPS, USPS, and FedEx were running behind themselves, so I shouldn't feel so badly.  I can now say it's officially over for another year.

I'm having to spend an enormous amount of time organizing and moving digital files from internal drives to external drives in preparation of getting a new desktop soon.  Mine has had some glitches since August, so being that it is close to 7 years old, I'm up for a new system and hubby will take this one and wipe it clean and use it until it dies.  I'm not looking forward to giving up "the familiar" and taking on "the unfamiliar", but gaining more RAM, better processor, and more storage always sound good to me.

I've squeezed in a little personal scrapping and made a challenge Quick Page on my days off.  I miss having time to design more, but my fulltime job has limited what I get done with the hours I have.  To begin our new year, I've participated in the QP challenge over at Ivy Scraps using the kit, "Yesterday's Memories" by Waite for the Moment Designs.   Visit the forum there under the January QP Challenge thread to gather up all the free Quick Pages, and you'll have a nice album ready to scrap.  Or better yet, consider participating in the challenge and practice making Quick Pages with us to share with everyone!  Get involved!  There's a great group of gals that hang out there all the time, and we all chat and help each other.  Here is the kit preview . . .

and here is the FREE QUICK PAGE made by yours truly in png format, 12 x 12-inch, 300 dpi, ready to slip a couple of photos underneath . . .

DOWNLOAD HERE or HERE

I hope you can use my freebies in your digi-scrapping!  Leave some love if you download, I need to know you've stopped by and wish me to continue making freebies.

One pleasant gift we received during the holidays came from a neighbor gal a few doors down, and she gave us the recipe as well.  In the photo below, you can see I hopped all over it, making some of my own.  The recipe is simple and quick; just my style!  I used parchment paper on my cookie sheets to prevent sticking.  (1) Fill up a cookie sheet with Snyder's mini pretzels.  (2) Set a Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.  (3) Place in a 350 degree oven for 4 minutes.  (4) Remove from oven and top with a pecan half.  Easy-peasy!  I cooled mine in the freezer for a couple of minutes, then placed in an air-tight jar for later snacking.  I also experimented with different types of caramel filled chocolate candy to see which would work best.  Stick with the Rolo candy; the melting temperature of it is more perfect and the caramel does not escape it so easy.  These are yummy and similar to "turtles".

Here is a glance at some of my recent scrapping for inspiration . . .

Above is a pre-made QP I just slipped a photo under and added some journaling.  Below is a template by Wendy Tunison Designs whom I follow on Facebook and got all her preChristmas freebies from there . . .

The above page was inspired by the simple white stamp-style frame cluster I wanted to use, so I built the page around that.  Below, my page features a challenge mask by Happy Scrap Arts who hosts a mask challenge each month at both Ivy Scraps and Digi Scrap Station.  I adore using different types of masks, and they are fun to collect just like templates!

The supplies above are from a sampler by Atrias Creations called "From the Sea" (Ivy Scraps), and the word art is freebie from Digital Scrapper back in June.

That's enough from me for the moment!  Take care, stay busy, and stay warm!  I'll be back with more goodies, so drop in again soon!
