FREEBIE QP - SUMMER AFTERNOON

Today is the last day of November, and I cannot believe how fast the months are rolling by.  As a little girl, I can remember my own mom saying "The older you get, the faster time flies."  I have now lived long enough to know exactly what she meant!  I ponder things like this.  Is it that we are just older, so doing things just takes longer?  Or is it that we are so busy with much to do and don't notice time slipping by until we occasionally take our heads up from the sand?  Humm . . .

At any rate, here on the last day of this month I'm posting another FREE QUICK PAGE for you, this one from my participation in the monthly Quick Page Challenge over at Ivy Scraps.  For November we got to design from the kit, "Summer Afternoon" by KatLen Kreations.  If you would like to gather up all the free QPs made by the challenge participants, just visit the Quick Page Challenge thread in the forum at Ivy Scraps.  There you will find the free download links in everybody's posts.  My page is 12 x 12-inch, 300 dpi, in png format.  Slip a couple of photos under it, add some journaling if desired, and you're done!  Here is the kit preview . . .

FREEBIE - FALL HARVEST QUICK PAGE

HAPPY "BLACK FRIDAY" shopping day to everybody!  I personally am not out in those tremendous crowds today.  There is nothing on my list so urgent, and nothing at all so urgent that I needed to shop on Thanksgiving Day!  Hope you had a wonderful day with friends and family and spent your time enjoying all the things we have to be thankful for each and every day.  Whether you cook your entire holiday meal or simply go out somewhere special to eat, I hope you had the chance to do it together with loved ones.

This year we opted to go out to a new place for our big meal, so we chose to cook up lots of goodies to carry our family over the remaining weekend.  Men have to have traditional holiday snacks available no matter what the cook decides to do, so my daughter whipped up a 7-lb. turkey breast in her crock pot so we would have it to snack on.  Wow!  It turned out totally awesome!  She is good at recipes of her own, and this one involved 1 cup each of chicken broth, beer, orange juice, and cranberry juice and the addition of various spices.  It was started on high for an hour, and finished on low for several hours.  The meat was unbelievably moist, tender and tasty!  We added to that my deviled eggs, a pecan pie, an apple/cranberry cobbler, several dips and a cheeseball.  Needless to say, the men were happy with rolls in hand for the remainder of the day which included football games and watching the kids play as folks dropped by.

We had traveled out 30 miles away to a nearby small town to partake our main meal at 1 p.m. in a friend's new small cafe to support her business.  She and her staff prepared an endless buffet of traditional southern Thanksgiving fare and were serving from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.  It was our first visit to her place, and we really enjoyed it.  The men loved it because the atmosphere is country-casual, eclectic, and the sweet tea was served in quart size mason jars with lots of ice.  The food was abundant, hot, and ready to consume with everything you could imagine available!  My oldest grandson, who is just a month shy of 12 yrs. old, gave the blessing.  It was beautiful and warmed my heart.

We left full and happy and decided to enjoy the famous quarter mile scenic "River Walk" in that area before motoring back home.  Our weather was cool enough to wrap up in jackets but not so cold as to be uncomfortable, and the day was all out sunshine!  The River Walk is an actual boardwalk along the very old historic parts of the town which sets on the river.  What a great photo opportunity!!  Guess who was snapping all the way!  I got some great pictures to scrap later on!  Yeah for me!

For you today I have a FREE QUICK PAGE entitled "FALL HARVEST".  This is through my participation in the November Quick Page Game at Digi Scrap Station, and the kit is by Panda Bear Designs.  I've made both the 8-inch size for the contest and the 12-in size png available here, both are 300 dpi.  To collect the whole QP album, visit the November Quick Page Game thread in the forum at DSS, where all the free download links are posted.  You can download my 12-inch page below.  Here is the kit preview . . .
