Boy! I'm on a page roll today! Getting them started at least and will be able to add to them easily as we go forward - Yippee!
Here I'll post some easy knitting and crochet patterns that I like using. I've been working with "sticks, hooks, needles, fiber arts, and sewing" for a long, long time; but I don't profess to be an expert by any means. I simply enjoy it as a means to focus my mind on many occasions. As I collect photos of my own finished pieces, I will come back to include them here close to the patterns for you.
Here's a pattern I'm working on now obtained from my local knit shop:
Seaman's Scarf (Knitted) - using the No-Roll scarf pattern
Materials: 270 yards worsted weight yarn
Gauge: 5 stitches/inch
Needles: US #5 or #6 (It looks good if the pattern is worked tight. I chose a #6 pair.)
Cast on 32 stitches.
FIRST SECTION:
Row 1: *Knit 1, Purl 3*, repeat * to *
Row 2: (The important row) - - Purl 1, *Knit 1, Purl 3*, repeat * to *, ending Knit 1, Purl 2.
Now, just working Row 1. DO NOT work Row 2 ever again in this section.
Work Row 1 for 14 inches.
NECK SECTION:
*Knit 4, Purl 4*, repeat * to *.
Repeat this row for 18 inches. (Men's neck size)
NEXT SECTION:
Row 1: *Knit 1, Purl 3*, repeat * to *.
Row 2: (The important row) - - Purl 1, *Knit 1, Purl 3*, repeat * to *, ending Knit 1, Purl 2.
Now, just working Row 1. DO NOT work Row 2 ever again in this section.
Work Row 1 for 14 inches.
Bind off.
