FREE CROCUS QP & IRISH BRADS

GREETINGS PEEPS!  I hope that Spring has arrived in your neck of the woods!  On my homefront the ornamental pear trees are in full white bloom against blue skies, and the redbuds are now beginning to blush their beautiful pink!  Temperatures have been up and down, and the winds are still pretty gusty; but all should settle soon.

Since I haven't been posting more often lately, today I have two FREEBIES for you to honor the passing of March this year.  So, we will jump right into those.  Here at the beach, anything is a good reason to party and celebrate!  We had numerous St. Patrick's Day events, and on the morning of the 15th (a Saturday) by 9 a.m. there were over 22,000 people crowded onto our little Main Street for the St. Patrick's Day parade!  It lasted for over 2-3 hours, but the festivities on Main went on well into the evening with food, beverage, music, and crafts.  All of this prompted me to make you some Irish brads to use on your March layouts.  There are 14 of these acrylic topped, preshadowed fun brads/buttons/stickers in this package, all pngs at 300 dpi so you can make them larger or smaller as you wish.  Here's the preview with the download beneath it.

Next up I have a FREE QUICK PAGE for you from my participation in the monthly QP Contest over at Ivy Scraps.  For March we were given a pretty kit called "CROCUS" by Happy Scrap Arts to play with, and below is the page I designed from this kit.  All of our pages are in png format at 300 dpi, and my download zip has the kit preview in it also so  you can see.  I believe there are about 10 Quick Pages you can collect for free simply by visiting the March QP Contest thread in the forum at Ivy Scraps where you will find each participant has posted a direct download link.  You will need to register in the forum if you are not already so you can see these links in the thread.  Hope you can use my page in your spring scrapping!  Enjoy and leave some love!

Now for pure inspiration, I'll show you some of the scrapping I completed this month.  Below is the page I designed for the March Mask Challenge at Ivy Scraps using the beautiful free mask by Happy Scrap Arts.  The photo is of the first blooms ever on my own Cocus Palm which were in the spring of 2013, and there were about 4 or 5 of these blooms!  Really strange beauties for sure!

Below is my happy little grandson who won his first trophy for his entry in the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby.  With this win, he got to proceed to Regional Competitions two weeks later!  What a great father/son project!!

Below is my only granddaughter who loves gymnastics and is taking top honors in her local and regional compeitions already at 8 years of age!  Loved this stark layout which was a premade QP I ran across.  The photo was taken against a pink wall, so I simply used an overlay by Digital Scrapper to get that heart bokeh look on that wall.  What a groovy technique!

Next up below is my own daughter who is now studying with the American Broadcasting College and doing DJ Bingo and Trivia in our local restaurants 5-6 evenings a week to gain experience with the microphone and all the electronic equipment as well as speaking in front of crowds (which she has absolutely no problem with).  Proud of her, too!

Below is a simple layout of my two grandchildren who are the same age and currently attending the same school, getting to eat lunch together; first cousins who love each other dearly.

Below, I am still working on my recent birthday albums, one page at a time!  I'll get there slow but sure!

Below I finished a second page of the father/daughter dance which was in February.  I acquired some more photos of this through some friends on Facebook.  Yeah for me!

Below, once in a while you just have to stop and scrap up some simple good pictures; and none better than the love between this gal and her dogs!

Below, stop and notice the details of these two layouts.  I did them from a Digital Scrapper tutorial for March Premier members.  After I watched the video tutorial, I got addicted to trying all the techniques it had taught.  Notice the way the photos are cut around, outlined, and then notice the thin outline around all of the photo edges.  It was quite interesting to do and is a technique to prevent you from getting bored with just regular layout of photos.  I will remember to use this often because I like the look and it was fun to do!

Below, I finally got a photo of my little man's Halloween costume this past year, so I had to scrap "us" together.

And the next four layouts are simply fun memories of a few of the many foods I cook repeatedly in my life in my kitchen.  When I am gone someday, somebody will be able to see that I fed well.  LOL!

Okay, that was a long post afterall.  Congrats if you made it to the end!  I hope to be back more in April.  And by the way, I have nearly completed that crocheted afghan I started for my dad's 91st birthday on April 14th.  I am going to make that deadline for certain, I can see the light at the end of my tunnel.  I'm proud of it and know he will love it and use it.  It's going in the mail soon!!  Yeah!   Now my hubby is wanting one, but I can go slower on his!  I really got a lot done this month although it doesn't show up by my presence here, but that's probably why I got it done.  Right??  (Things to ponder . . . )

Until next time,

TOOTLES!!
