FREEBIE QUICK PAGES - OCEAN BLUE AND BITS & BAUBLES

Good Morning, my peeps!  I'm dropping in to post some more FREE QUICK PAGES for you before this month of June slips passed us.  I've been super busy working my job and entertaining my grandkids in my home and at the pool on my two days off.  Needless to say, I'm having to go to bed earlier at night to keep this pace which is opposite my "night-owl" routine which is truly me by nature.  This is cutting my computer time to a bare minimum, but spending time with my grandkids while they have some summer off is my top priority.  They are growing up so fast, and I get to see so little of them during the busy school year and my having to work over the weekends.  I always get all three of them together; and we play games, craft, watch movies, play in the yard with baseball or corn-hole, swim, and manage to eat three meals during the days!  As we returned to my house after our last dip in the pool this week, my youngest one told me that he "wished he could just live with me", and I take that as the highest compliment!  Little does he remember that he actually did live with me in my house until he was 3-1/2 years old.  He is 7 years old now.  Maybe some of it is actually retained in the corners of his mind, but probably not so much as time goes by.  Sure plucked my heart strings though to hear him vocalize that one this week.  Going to try to beg his dad into a sleep-over soon.

We've had rain off and on each day for over a week now.  It's so hot the water vapor just rises while the sun is out, forms clouds, and comes back down at some point during the day.  The rain never lasts very long and moves on out quickly with the breeze, but it can be torrential type rain while coming down!  The tourists are about over it!  Poor dears!

I've gotten a few pages of personal scrapping completed and managed to find time to put together my two regular monthly Quick Pages for the games I enter at Digi Scrap Station and Ivy Scraps.  We'll start with game at DSS which gave us the kit, OCEAN BLUE, by Panda Bear Designs, to play with.  I'm offering my page in both the 8-inch and 12-inch sizes for download below.  These are png files at 300 dpi.  Here is the kit preview . . .

and here is my layout with it . . .

and here is the blank QP . . .

Next up is from the June Quick Page Game at Ivy Scraps where we got to play with the kit, BITS & BAUBLES, by Waite For The Moment Designs.  I made a 12-inch size, png file, at 300 dpi.  Here is the kit preview . . .

I hope you like and can use these in your personal digi-scrapping.  Of course, if you want to collect the other contestant's pages, just visit the forum thread at each site about the June Quick Page Challenge/Game.  Each contestant will post a direct download link for their QP in that forum thread.  You probably need to be registered in the forum before you will be able to see those active links.  It's all free, so have at it.

That's it for the moment from me.  Short and sweet!  I'll be back soon to post your July Calendar Grid freebie, so don't miss that!  Leave some love if you download my goodies; just let me know you were here at least!

Oh yeah, I had my pooch, Duffy, shaved down for the summer heat by my DD today.  Geez!  He looks naked now, but he's loving it himself as evidenced by his extra rough playtime this evening.  He was sporting a beautiful full winter coat of buff colored curls and was extra cute with it.  I feel like I've just cute off Sampson's hair, but it had to be done for his comfort.  Never fear, it will grow back sooner than we think!

FUNKY TOWN QUICK PAGE FREEBIE !!

Greetings!  Welcome to my little corner of creativity!  It's already blazing hot here at the beach, and it's only mid-June!  Wednesday this week saw the onset of extreme humidity, so it's definitely time to stay in the ocean or pool water for comfort out there and wear lots of sunblock!

Had my birthday yesterday, not telling how old!  I've learned to celebrate the fact I am here, not count how long I've been around.  LOL!  I had to work anyway but had a good day.  My DD took me out the evening before for an oceanfront snack and drinks where we could watch some of the local amusements now that the tourists are packed in here.  Lord the sights and sounds; I could people-watch forever, so entertaining!  Anyway during my BD workday, she dropped by with balloons and a cool, yummy Starbucks drink and put me in the spotlight on my job.  I'd been trying to keep it a secret.  Oh well, so much for that.  At the same time my littlest grandson, the one that was the extreme preemie (now 7 yrs. old) came to surprise me with a bouquet of white roses, a card he had picked himself, and a 5x7" school photo which was awesome!  He was so tickled with himself and couldn't wait for me to read his card, as it was a humorous joke type and he wanted to see my face when I read it.  He reads so well already!  Anyway, it was a thrill for me as he is certainly my heart.  Here are a couple of BD shots . . .

My DH treated me to BBQ ribs for my birthday dinner.  He had trouble waiting to give me my gift, and since he knew I'd be working on my special day, he chose to give it to me a few days early when I was off and would have time to investigte it.  It was a total surprise, a 10" Samsung tablet!!  Now, I've got to get cracking as a barely have begun to use all the features on my new LG Optimus smart phone as of late!  He knows I like my electronics and don't want to get left in the dust with technology always advancing by leaps and bounds.  We have fun recalling our very first computer and how rudimentary it really was.

I found a new digi-scrap site, at least for me to frequent called With Love Studio.  Upon investigating their forum, I found some challenges for the month of June and so far have participated in the June "Use It or Lose It" challenge where you can make a layout, a quick page or something to show or share using the free mini kit they supply.  This month's mini kit is called "Funky Town" by Amy Lee of Starry Eyed Designs there, and here is what it looks like,

I chose to make a Quick Page to share.  My freebie is a 12 x 12-inch png at 300 dpi.  You can easily resize it to an 8 x 8-inch if that's the size you like to scrap in.  I enjoyed the bright colors in this kit, and you may wish to check out the June Use It or Lose It forum thread or gallery to see all the free items that have been made using this kit so you can snag them up for your stash.

I hope to be back shortly with several more free QPs for this month, your July calendar template, and whatever else I have time to rustle up!

Meantime, enjoy the challenge of staying cool during the summer heat!  And, of course, Happy Scrapping!

Today, short and sweet!  For our sixth month of 2013, I bring you my June Calendar Grid Template FREEBIE.  This includes two files; one jpg file with a white background, and one transparent png file to place on a background of your own.  I've designed it to fit well on the lower half of an 8.5 x 11" document, but you can resize it larger or smaller to suit your taste.  This leaves you the top half of the 8.5 x 11" document that you can embellish as you wish with photos, recipes, notes, etc.  Have fun with it.

It would be ever so kind of you to take a second and leave a comment if you download.

FREE MEMORIAL DAY PHOTO MASK

Welcome to the grand month of June, my birthday month!  I had great intentions of posting this freebie on our real Memorial Day, but I got tired and got behind so I'm bringing it to you a little late.  Perhaps I've given you time to capture just the right photo for this mask, and now you are more ready to sit down to scrap.

I love making clipping masks, and there are so many ways to use these.  This is a png file at 300 dpi and can be easily resized larger or smaller without quality loss for printing.  You can set this on top of your background paper, then clip your photo directly to it and see what that looks like.  Or, if you prefer, you can clip another paper to this mask and then pop your photo in the center and test out that look.  You also can apply styles to this mask to get a completely different look, or recolor it as you desire.  Masks are very flexible in digi-scrapping if you know how to use your scrapping program.  Whatever you do with it, I hope it serves you well.

My brother, who is retired Army now, texted me on the Memorial Day Monday holiday to let me know that his oldest son was at the airport taking off for Iraq at 6:30 pm that evening.  I could sense the anxiety in my brother's written words.  I immediately texted my nephew a "love you, have a good flight, stay safe" take off message with my new "smart phone".  He volunteered for this year-long tour of duty as his intention is to make the military his career and he is bucking for Officer's Candidate School.  Doesn't make us worry any less.  We refer to his ultimate location there as "the sand box" trying to keep our conversations light and less full of our nervousness, but really nothing alleviates the anxiety for any relative of an active-duty military person, much less the parents involved.  So, once again, our hearts were heavy as yet another one of our family members headed out over the ocean waters to serve our country.  He will be constantly in our thoughts and prayers until his safe return.  Here is a look at my nephew and his fiance,

He has the greatest sense of humor, dry and witty; always making others laugh.  It was with him in mind that I created this photo mask for you.
