I'm in such a rush, so I hope Blogger feels like cooperating for this post. I've had two grandsons with birthdays this month, one 7 and one 11. Whew! Being creative with their gifts so close after having Christmas is always a challenge. For the older one whose birthday was yesterday, we had an at-home taco bar birthday dinner, cake and ice cream with family and a few of his close friends in. We were under a tornado watch along the coast here, so it was good that we stayed home. Weather has been in the 70's, but the wind, moisture in the air, barometric pressure and clouds have been kooky in the last 24 hours.
My mother-in-law passed away at age 75 in the early morning hours of Tuesday, the 29th. My hubby and step-son packed a quick duffle and headed north 6-1/2 hours to her hospital Sunday night at 9 p.m. when it became apparent that her condition was failing. She was lucid to the end and had her final conversational connection with each member of their very large family which is very Christian and very strong in mind and spirit. She wouldn't accept any morphine for pain until after those family conversations. When the doctor asked what the Hospice plan would be, she told him she wouldn't need one. She told us she had seen the angels already, they were there with her; the same ones her husband had seen just before he passed several years ago. She had thought he was out of it when he told her about the angels, but she now told us they are very real and we needed to know that. She had signed a DNR order. She was ready, and she decided when to go. She said her work was done, she had had enough, and she removed her own oxygen mask and slipped away.
Everybody called her Nanny. She was country, sweet, sensitive, loving, forgiving, kind, and generous. She was very feminine, dressed well, loved silk pajamas, painted her nails, wore scarves and bows and flowers in her pretty hair, and her favorite color was pink. She sang and played a guitar. She loved to read books, watch good movies, make quilts, sew, knit and crochet. She loved a good jigsaw puzzle, and there was always one in progress somewhere in the house. She loved her houseplants and tended her outdoor flowers. She liked to shop and loved Christmas-time because she was a giver. She loved coming to the beaches on vacation and gathering seashells and getting a tan. She loved her life, her home, her family, and her man. She missed him dearly in the last few years. RIP you two lovebirds! We will miss you!
We will be traveling to attend her funeral and be with the family for a few days afterwards. The weather forecast is not looking good up North, we will take extra time to be extra cautious on the roads.
I didn't want to disappear on you without checking in here and finalizing my Quick Page entry for the January QP game I did at Digi Scrap Station. We worked with a kit by Scrappy Cats called "Snowy Skies". I'm offering both the 8-inch and 12-inch sizes here on my blog. They are png format at 300 dpi. You can collect all of them in the forum at Digi Scrap Station in the January QP Game thread. Each QP entry has posted a direct download link for their page. Here is the full kit preview . . .
and here is my Quick Page . . .

I hope to post again before too much of February gets away from me. I'd like to get the rest of those 2012 calendar templates out to you soon.
It was with a sad face and heavy heart I read in the Divine Digital forum that Royanna is closing the site on Feb. 28th due to her poor health. I totally understand her decision but will miss that scrapping site so much. I've hung out there for years and years. There was always so much inspiration oozing there!
And if you can answer these two questions, please do so for me in the comments. Where in the world did Berry Sweet Scraps go? And what has happened to the site at Scrappity-doo-dah? Does anybody know what's going on???
Okay, I've gotta jump off here. So much to do, so little time. I still haven't gotten around to reloading all my listings in my Etsy shop, so I will focus on that when I return from this trip. Take care till we can chat again.

MARCH CALENDAR GRID TEMPLATE FREEBIE
GREETINGS ALL!
I haven't disappeared, just been having major problems trying to get Blogger to work correctly. I have not been able to upload photo previews from my computer, and after much research in the Blogger "help", I think I've found a work-around to hold me over until they get this glitch fixed. I don't profess to be a techi geek, so their problems just mean more work on my end. I hope they get this problem fixed soon for I fear it's going to slow me down quit a bit! I'm truly sorry about that.
As you can see above in my Etsy store widget, most of my listings have expired as of the 15th of this month, and I need to sit down and get all my craft items relisted asap! I've just got a lot of work to do in the limited free hours I have. I should have these back up in the next few days.
So, I'm here today with your FREEBIE which is the March 2013 grid. As before, I've included one png file which is transparent and allows you to use your own background paper; then there is one jpg file which has a white background. These are 8.5 x 5.5 inches and fit nice on the bottom portion of an 8.5 x 11" document. You can scrap your own toppers that way. Here is the preview . . .

I had trouble both with 4Shared and Open Drive, couldn't get into either of them to get things uploaded. Don't know what's up with that! Never had any trouble with Open Drive before, it has worked beautifully up till now. The first link above is Box.com and the second link is YouSendIt.com where I just opened a "Lite" account which is free. Not sure how well it will work for me, but we will test it out for awhile.
On another note, I collected the 31 Days of Christmas templates for 2012 by Roadside Designs during December, they were free on her blog. I've started my Christmas album in 8x8" format with them and currently have about 8 double page layouts finished. I will post them on my LAYOUTS page here (tab at the top) and just scroll to see or find them. The templates are now on sale at One Story Down. I'm already doing all kinds of mixing and matching with them. I may not get these posted here until the picture upload problem has been fixed by Blogger. By then I should have lots more of them finished.
Again, I'm sorry that this is not going well here today technically. I love it when things work like they are supposed to, but it's dreadful when they don't. Try to hang in here with me. I think I will put the rest of these calendar grids for 2013 into one package when I post them. That way you'll have them all before this year gets too old, and I will only have to upload one photo preview for that!
My intention for FREEBIES to come soon are some Quick Pages I've made for contests, so check back.
Until next post, TOOTLES!!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES - SAD FACE
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERONE! I made my journey home for Christmas with my folks safely and am back now to the warmer weather of my southern home. Weather in WV was brutal. I arrived just seconds adhead of a massive snow storm, and the rest of the week prohibited any getting my folks out of the house weather-wise. Snow, sleet, black ice all week long; even their church cancelled candlelight service. They were thrilled to see us and to have us there with them for the holiday week! It certainly put a sparkle in their eyes, and we probably wore them out. We just snuggled in and baked a lot making all sorts of Christmas goodies for them. My daughter and I took over cooking meals so mom could rest up. The grandkids played games and puzzles with great-grandpa, and we all took tons of pictures!
I hope you had a wonderful blessed holiday, too! Doesn't it pass so rapidly?
I wasn't able to set up auto-posts as I had hoped to finish getting the rest of my 2013 calendar grids out to you. I just ran out of time before traveling to get everything finished up. I've gotten all of the calendar grids finished for 2013, but as I try to set up this post I have run into problems uploading to 4Shared, signing in to OpenDrive, and now I cannot get blogger to upload my preview photos from my PC. I have now attempted for several days and am very frustrated. Went and red up on this at blogger help, seems I am not the only person having this issue. Guess I'll have to wait for them to get this fixed before I can get back to normal here.
I always love and appreciate our technology that allows us to connect and communicate, but Oh My, when it doesn't work right, it's so frustrating!
Just wanted to touch base and let you know why such delay. If anyone has any suggestions to help me around this stumbling block, please let me know. I need a good photo hosting site that will provide me the photo url so it will show up here. I've always uploaded from my computer, now I may have to figure out an alternative. I am not one to sit on my thumbs waiting for them to fix this issue.
Chow for now!
